Verona

If you are looking for a European tourer destination, see the Venezia-Euganea part of northern Italian Republic on the Gulf of Venice. Venezia is its best-known city and one of the most popular tourer finishes on earth. But the Venezia-Euganea part is a batch more than this great city. There are first-class tourer attractive forces elsewhere, and you won't have got to struggle the immense crowds. With a small fortune you'll avoid tourer traps, and come up back place with the feeling that you have got truly visited Italy. This article analyzes tourer attractive forces in the Shakespearian town of Verona, a United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site. Be certain to read our comrade articles on northern Veneto, southern Veneto, and the university metropolis of Padua.

Verona. I don't cognize about you, but I can't hear this word without thought of the phrase, Two Gentlemen of Verona, a not particularly well-known Shakespeare play. Verona was the scene of a particularly well-known Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet. This metropolis of more than than a one-fourth million have a long and bloody history. Its occupants are proud that on an Easter Monday more than two hundred old age ago they drove out the Gallic occupiers. The German author Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe and the Gallic authors Marie Henri Beyle and Valéry included Verona in their traveling diaries. The Roman Emperor Julius Julius Caesar spent a batch of clip here, and probably enjoyed many of the sights described next.

Verona have quite a aggregation of traces from its Roman days. Let's start with its Roman amphitheatre, the 3rd biggest in Italy. This construction is approximately 400 feet (140 meters) long and 350 feet (110 meters) wide, giving it a seating capacity of about 25,000 witnesses in 44 grades of marble seats. While lone fragments of the outer walls remain, its inside is virtually intact. This building often hosts fairs, theatre, opera and other populace events, especially during the summer.

A First Century B.C. Roman theatre was eventually transformed into a lodging land land site but in the Eighteenth Century the houses were demolished and the site restored. Nearby you'll happen the Ponte di Pietra (Stone Bridge), a Roman arch span crossing the River Adige River, completed in 100 B.C. Retreating German military personnel destroyed four of the span arches in World War two but the span was rebuilt in 1957 using original materials.

You should also see the First Century Arco dei Gavi (Gavi Arch) straddling the Corso Cavour; once the chief route into the city. Look for the architect's signature, a rareness for the times. Gallic military personnel destroyed this arch in 1805, and it was rebuilt only in 1932.

Porta Borsari, an archway at the end of the Corso Orifice Borsari street, is the façade of a Third Century gate within the original Roman metropolis walls. This street is lined with respective Renaissance Palaces. Orifice Leoni (Leoni Gate) is what stays of a First Century B.C. Roman metropolis gate. Parts of it have got been incorporated into a wall of a medieval building. Even in those years some people believed in recycling. You can see the stays of the original Roman street and the gateway foundations if you look slightly below the present street level.

The Twelfth Century Romanesque Basilica of San Zeno Of Elea Maggiore is quite a masterpiece. It is built upon a Fourth Century shrine to the city's frequenter saint, St. Zeno, the first Bishop of Verona. The basilica's glorious 1 hundred 10 ft (seventy two meter) bell tower is worthy of reference in Dante's Godhead Comedy. Both the room access and the interior bronze door have got multiple panels of biblical scenes and word pictures from St. Zeno's life. Its walls are covered with Twelfth and Fourteenth Century frescoes. Its vaulted crypt incorporates the grave of St. Zeno Of Elea as well as the graves of respective other saints.

The little but attractive Romanesque Twelfth Century Basilica of San Lorenzo is built on the land site of a Paleo-Christian church, some fragments of which remain. The immense Eighth Century Romanesque Santa Mare Antica Church was the parish Christian church of the Scaligieri household that ruled Verona for many centuries. Many of them are buried in the complex. Some of these graves are quite alone and well deserving seeing, even if you're not a habitué of that kind of thing.

The Twelfth Century Romanesque Duomo (Cathedral) was constructed on the land site of two Palaeo-Christian churches destroyed by an temblor much earlier in the century. The land site includes an unfinished Sixteenth Century bell tower. Be certain to see the chapel adorned with Titian's Assumption. Verona's biggest Christian church is the Fifteenth Century Sant'Anastasia whose inside is considered one of northern Italy's high-grade illustrations of Gothic architecture, and believe me this competition includes many entries. The building of this brilliant building took nearly two hundred years. Among its points of award are frescoes and kyphosis statues that function to distribute holy water. It is said that touching a hunchback's bulge conveys good luck. Maybe adjacent time.

San Fermo Maggiore is in world two churches. The tomblike less Romanesque Christian church days of the month from the Eighth Century. The immense Fourteenth Century Gothic upper Christian church is noteworthy for its ceiling festooned with the pictures of four hundred saints. There are more than Christian churches to see in Verona but we are now going to look at castles and palaces.

The Fourteenth Century Castelvecchio (Old Castle) was built on the Banks of the River Adige River near the Ponte Scaligero (Scaligero Bridge), probably on the land site of a Roman fortress. Built to protect against foreign encroachers and popular rebellions, it included a fortified span in lawsuit the proprietors had to fly north to fall in their allies in the Tyrol. Over the old age the palace have known many redevelopments and restorations. Brand certain to see its fine art museum, specializing in Venetian painters and sculptors.

Those Scaligeris spent a batch of their clip in the Palazzo degli Scaligeri, their medieval palace, which today, as then, is closed to the general public. But you can travel adjacent door to the Arche Scaligere with its Gothic graves of selected members of the family.

The Italian Plaza is a meeting place. Verona have some particular examples. The Plaza delle Erbe (Herb Square) have been around since the years of the Romans. For ages it was a fruit and veggie marketplace but now is geared to tourists. It still keeps its medieval expression and some of the green goods stalls. The Plaza dei Signori (Gentlemen's Square) is Verona's centre of activities as it have been for centuries. This square is right adjacent door to the Scaglieri Palace. Those gentlemen didn't believe in commuting. We can't go forth Verona without visiting those star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The Twelfth Century Casi di Giulietta (Juliet's House) long belonged to the Dekaliter Cappello household and since it's not a long manner from Cappello to Capulet perhaps… This lovely house even possesses a courtyard balcony. Yes, the house at Via Cappello, 23 probably isn't the existent thing, but crowds come up to lout and dream. This could be the topographic point to suggest marriage.

What about food? Verona's culinary art characteristics typical dishes of the Polonium Valley plains: amalgamated boiled meats, nervetti (calf's ft and veau shank salad), and risotto, often prepared with a healthy douse of Amarone wine. The Plaza delle Erbe still have some fruit and veggie stalls selling local green goods such as as radicchio and asparagus. Not only the vino is classified. Verona is place to a classified cheese, Monte Veronese. But who would believe that rice is also classified? The Riso Nano Vialone Paolo Veronese is a laboratory-developed rice first introduced into the country in 1945. It now stands for 90% of the local production. Are it better than other rice? Locals obviously believe so. I assure that I will savor it on my adjacent trip to Verona.

Let's propose a sample menu, one of many. Start with Gnocchi (Small Potato Dumplings). Then seek Pastissada Delaware Caval (Horsemeat Stew, often simmered in wine). For dessert indulge yourself with Pandoro di Verona (Verona Butter Cream Cake). Be certain to increase your dining pleasance by including local vinoes with your meal.

We'll reason with a speedy expression at Venezia-Euganea wine. Venezia-Euganea ranks 3rd among the 20 Italian parts for the country planted in grape vines and for its sum yearly vino production. About 45% of Venezia-Euganea vino is reddish or rosé, leaving 55% for white. The part bring forths 24 doctor vinoes and 3 DOCG wines, Recioto di Soave, Soave Superiore, and Bardolino Superiore. doctor stand ups for Denominazione di Origine Controllata, which may be translated as Denomination of Controlled Origin, presumably a high-quality wine The Gram in DOCG stand ups for Garantita, but there is in fact no warrant that such as vinoes are truly superior. Almost 30% of Venetian vino transports the doctor or DOCG designation.

Valpolicella doctor is a human race celebrated vino produced north of Verona from respective local redness grapes. This vino is usually nil to compose place about and often savors of cooked cherries. But that is hardly the end of the Valpolicella story. Valpolicella Ripasso is made from immature Valpolicella vino set into army tanks or barrels containing the lees (one could state dregs, but that mightiness give the incorrect impression) of a recioto vino (see below). The mixture undergoes a secondary zymosis and goes a more than interesting wine. Valpolicella Recioto is made from passito grapes, those dried on mats for respective months. It may be a still wine, a fizzy wine, or a sparkling wine. Valpolicella Recioto is sweet or bittersweet. Amarone doctor is a type of Valpolicella Recioto whose refined sugar have been completely transformed into alcoholic beverage becoming a powerful tasting vino that battalions a poke and ages well. What a difference between Amarone and its beginning wine, Valipolcella.

Finding the Best Cyprus Nightlife

The Republic Of Cyprus Nightlife is varied and depending on where you chose to remain can be either relaxed, or one that volition diagnostic test the endurance of hardcore clubber's until the interruption of dawn. R. Firth of Forth, Tantallon Palace is one of Scotland and Britain's most spectacular castles. The palace is built of local redness sandstone which do an already impressive edifice all the more than than striking.

Even more dramatic is the position from the palace itself with the baleful basalt stopper of the Bass Rock immediately opposite and the Isle of May just the other side of the J. R. Firth of Forth. Tantallon is quite simply an amazing castle.

With a history dating back to 1358, Tantallon palace have seen it's fair share of history, from the Douglasses through to Cromwell. Beseiged on a figure of occasions, the most noteworthy seiges being in 1491, 1528 and when Joseph Oliveer Oliver Cromwell besieged the palace in 1651. Oliver Cromwell undertook a twelve twenty-four hours besieging which although it resulted in the licking of the palaces defenders, it was noteworthy that they were granted clemency on business relationship of their bravery.

Nowadays, Tantallon inhabits a less bloody, if no less windswept topographic point in the Black Maria of Scots Palace enthusiasts. Having been allowed to deteriorate under consecutive proprietors from the 18th century, Sir Hew Clifford Hamilton-Dalrymple handed over the palace to the Scots state in the early 20th century and it is now in the attention of Historic Scotland where it treated with the self-respect and regard it deserves.

Visitors will happen the palace just east of North Berwick, near the little town of Whitekirk. I strolled out on Jacques Cartier Pier to an outdoor concert stage where two well-known Canadian singers, Kim Richardson and Sylvie Desgroseillers were enchanting the audience with Mo-Town and R&B melodies.

I walked east and happened onto a huge playground area on the little island in the Bassin Bonsecours that was a family entertainment zone. Kids were sliding up and down and in and out of a whole variety of huge inflatable slides. Freestyle skiers were jumping off a large ramp and performing summersaults and various aerial acrobatics. The whole area was packed with people enjoying themselves on a beautiful summer day. I walked up Place Jacques Cartier and into a small pedestrian street called Rue des Amables which is full of portrait artists and galleries. At the end of this little street I found my dinner destination: Galiano's.

Galiano's is located in a 200 year-old building on a small cobble-stoned street in Old Montreal. Formerly a "boîte à chanson" it opened its doors eight years ago. The restaurant stretches over two floors with an open area in the middle and a wooden staircase leading up to the second floor with seating on an interior balcony. The street-side patio adds additional seating capacity and ambience to this rustic restaurant.

Always a big fan of Italian cuisine, I was looking forward to a filling meal after a day packed with exercise and activities. The whole area around the restaurant and Old Montreal in general was absolutely hustling and bustling with people and everyone was in good spirits, ready to celebrate since it was Canada Day. Street performers were entertaining the crowd. At just before 6 pm it was still a bit early and I was fortunate to find a seat in the lounge area of the restaurant that features several tables flanking an arrangement of leather couches in front of the fireplace.

For a few minutes I was able to catch the owner, John Tsinas, to find out more about this culinary establishment. John is part of Montreal's famous Antonopoulos family that owns a variety of hospitality restaurants and hotels in Old Montreal. His uncles are silent partners in Galiano's. John's younger brothers Manny and Peter also work with him in the business. At 40 years of age John is the oldest, and the two other brothers are each five years apart. John says that Manny is the people person and today Manny was seating customers, tryig to keep up with the sheer onslaught of customers that were just streaming into Galiano's.

Manny is also the man with the creative ideas and he was the one that came up with the idea for lounge area and some of the new decorating styles featured at Galianos. Another new idea is to use a small balcony area above the entrance door as a location for a DJ or some live music. And a wine cellar next to the entrance is presently under construction and will be opened in the near future.

John has a lot of experience in the hospitality industry: he started working in the restaurant business at age 14 and has worked his way up all the way from the bottom. He even ran a food warehouse for McGill University which included restocking the vending machines and was a waiter at three different restaurants prior to opening Galiano's. John added that he still thinks like an employee and because of his hands-on experience he always treats his staff members with respect. His working style is very hands-on, he says that today he will be calling out the orders in his kitchen and preparing them for the waiters.

Galiano's is known for its Italian cuisine and its generous portion sizes. Everything is made from scratch at Galiano's. John mentioned their signature dishes: Scaloppini alla Veronica, their Antipasto Misto, a Filetto Tre Sapori, home made Lasagna as well as their Quattro Stagioni Pizza. John recommended that I try Galiano's Calamari Fritti. Just about 10 minutes after my order a steaming plate of juicy and tasty calamari arrived, the perfect introduction to a filling meal. I followed it up with a Galiano Salad: a huge plate of salad with cold cuts and cheese. John wasn't kidding when he talked about huge portion sizes!

John of course had to get back to work after our little chat, but I thoroughly enjoyed my evening meal and by the time I was finished, the lineup was stretching all the way out the door and down the street. Galiano's is obviously a favourite destination for many in Old Montreal and for me it was a great starting point for my evening discoveries which would include the official Canada Day Celebrations and a big concert in the Old Port of Montreal.

India Beach Tour - An Everlasting Sweet Experience

India is one of the most popular tourist destinations in south Asia. Europe provides idyllic skiing opportunities in Switzerland, Italy, Scandinavia and more. In spite of the misconception that American ski resorts are overcrowded, there are more than six hundred snowy playgrounds that are not only unheralded, but also relatively uncongested.

Mammoth Mountain, Aspen, Banff And More

Mammoth Mountain, California is big and includes a ski season that lasts till June or July. It even boasts of a ski school with hundreds of instructors, and provides high quality groomed snow throughout the winters. Aspen, Colorado is famous, and has many black-diamond runs as well as steep, narrow trails twists down. As a skier you face the challende of taking on the Rockies. Aspen certainly has quality terrain combined with powder and steep drops that comprises over six hundred acres of skiing excellence. With expert runs and room enough for first-time skiers, Aspen is a hot spot for North American ski vacations.

Another popular North American ski vacation destination is Banff. It is located in Canada. It has been in existence since 1883 and has been a haven for skiers from all across the world down to this day. This ski destination provides three ski areas that have more than two hundred and fifty runs spread over 7,700 acres and is consistently rated as being the top ski destination for skiers as well as snowboarders.

The Andes provides plenty of skiing opportunities and the list of ski resorts is quite long. The Andes of Argentina is certain to provide world class ski vacation opportunities and you can be sure to find a day or two of satisfying downhill skiing available at places such as Las Lenas, Cerro Catedral and Chapelco. There are also limited skiing options available on the volcanoes of the Los Nevados range in Colombia.

In Ecuador, one can ski the four highest peaks called Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Cayambe and Antisana. Peru too has potential for exploratory skiing, while one may want to try out the Chacaltaya Mountain just outside La Paz in Bolivia.

Europe no doubt is a haven for skiing and there are many ski vacation destinations you can choose from including Davos, Adelboden, Champery, Engelberg, Gstaad and many more skiing destinations in Switzerland. Davos is certainly the largest ski resort in Switzerland. It is also the highest city in Europe and is one of the oldest and most fashionable ski resorts that has an enviable reputation for providing excellent skiing along with an exciting night-life. It has five ski areas on both sides of the valley and has much variety in terms of terrain that is ideally suited for alpine skiing.

Of special interest to serious skiers would be a ski vacation that takes in Zermatt in Switzerland, Innsbruck in Austria and Chamonix in France. Also favored are ski vacations in Italy where the Dolomoti Mountains comprise ski regions like no other and high peaks coupled with gentle slopes provide excellent skiing. There is plenty of adventure available for everyone and with an abundance of ski vacation packages available, you can find entertainment, excellent shopping as well as an international skiing holiday for the beginner as well as the experienced skier.

Further north in Scandinavia can be found plenty of skiing opportunities like the impressive Lillehammer Olympic region in Norway. Looking for the very best in Alpine and cross-country skiing? Try the Hafjell Ski resort. It offers excellent ski conditions with Soft-Packed and Machine-Groomed snow. Oslo has the famous Holmenkollen ski jump that attracts plenty of visitors taking a ski vacation in Norway.

Once you have planned your dream ski vacation, it is necessary to know what to pack since this is a difficult part that involves selecting ski gear such as jackets, pants, gloves, helmets, goggles, base layers and more. Whatever you do, don't forget to pack the ski wear in the order that you will be wearing them. Pack ski accessories as well as those items of clothing you will wear when you are not skiing. Above all, you should make sure to pack ski equipment such as your ski boots, skis, and poles. Also we recommend that you have a ski bag for them. Of course, if you would rather travel lightly, which is what we would recommend, then renting your ski gear is the way to go!

Cheap Sweden Hotels - Low Cost High Satisfaction

Sweden is the largest Scandinavian country and it offers you several opportunities for cultural and outdoor activities. You have plenty of opportunities to explore the glorious history of the country while visiting the cities which are fine examples of cosmopolitan and modern society. Extensive forest region, 90,000 lakes, mountains, and beautiful sea are the wonderful assets of the country. Obviously, to have the pleasure of seeing all this, you need to stay longer over there. Cheap Sweden hotels are the best option if budget is anyway a matter of concern for you. Despite being on the outskirts of Europe, Sweden never lost its fabulous cultural taste. The chiefs of the then kingdom used to invite artists from all across the globe to their courts. This trend helped Swedish people immensely in developing own traditional, cultural and architectural heritages.

Four of the greatest cities, Stockholm, Linkoping, Gothenburg and Malmo have all the good traits to bring smile on your face. The capital city Stockholm is a hi-tech city which has a fine historical background. Predecessors such as Uppsala, Birka, Kykoping and Sigtuna surround the city. You must enjoy the famous trip Gothenburg on boat through the Gota Canal that connects Gothenburg with Stockholm. You will find plenty of interesting facts about both medieval and modern history of aviation and electronics while on the trip through the central plain and valleys of Sweden. Some of the cheap hotels in Sweden also have incredible configuration when it comes to get impressed by the superb architectural design.

Gothenburg is the industrial town of the country. It is the commercial capital of the country. Large international port dominates the city. Malmo is another city in the south which is cosier and has a more common touch. Nature has bestowed upon a lot of blessings to the southern region of the country. Warm and sandy beaches, rural landscape with beautiful manors and patches of woods pervade through the region.

What is Small Group Adventure Travel?

What exactly is Small Group Adventure Travel?

Lucky means many things to many people. I have never won a large sum of money in fact I never won anything really. I have a nice place to stay and enough to eat but I work for that so I'm not sure how much it has to do with luck. I find more red lights than green and I never get away with anything that is even slightly naughty. But I am a lucky man.

I have worked in small group adventure travel for 10 years now I have experienced many countries andsights, made real friends and learnt a great deal. Travel makes me happy and a happy man is a lucky man.

Small group adventures is a fast growing sector of the travel industry, some say the fastest, but it's a style of travel that has many misconceptions. Unlike other styles of travel such as cruising, or a beach resort the words small group adventure is quite cloudy for travellers and travel agents alike. So what I want to do, as simply as I can, is clarify what small group adventure is all about.

Adventure-
Adventure is the word that starts to confuse us because adventure means different things to different travellers. Think of this type of adventure as a genuine experience of a country and it's people. So if we are having an adventure in Tuscany, for example, we would stay in a beautiful Tuscan farmhouse, meet Tuscans in a local restaurant eating great Tuscan food. Now if we were having a genuine experience in say Papua we will be trekking through thick jungle, staying in a remote village house and the food, well, it will be local.

Escorted tours in small groups-
The words group or escorted tour can conjure up visions of name badges, flag waving guides and one hour toilet stops. Small groups average 12 people of many nationalities from different backgrounds and all ages. Small groups mean more attention from guides and leaders and a lot more freedom. For most it is a relaxed way to travel that gives you freedom and expert local knowledge but takes the hassles of day to day travelling away.

Age-
The average age of one of our travellers is 18 to 70. Travellers are attracted to different destinations, level of budget and comfort. This determines what type of person travels on which trip. Generally the group you are travelling with will have chosen that trip for the same reasons as you. Will they be the same age as you? Maybe but you will find you will have a lot in common.

Accommodation-
Small groups do not need to book big hotels. Your budget determines the facilities of your place to stay but not the comfort. People travelling on a budget will be staying in basic but clean, comfortable and central accommodation. You can afford something a little more then stay with a Maharajah in his palace or in a family run 4 star boutique hotel. You can afford the best then we will find you the best hotels hand picked for their uniqness.

Responsible Travel-
The only time you can have more fun being responsible than not being responsible is travelling. Giving back to people who welcome you to their country is a responsible thing to do. How can we do this? We can use operators that take us to eat in a good local restaurants, that use family run hotels, that use local businesses to help run their trips, we could buy some souvenirs from the markets or visit some sight that is away from the crowds. We could also use operators that have different community projects help those that need help the most. We can even get involved in those projects by donations or spending a couple of days helping out on a volunteer holiday.

This, I hope, clears some of the haze surrounding small group adventures. There are many other questions to be answered I'm sure so you can contact me on the address below.

Minnesota Rural Golf- Meadowlark Country Club

Meadowlark Country Club is located on the southern edge of the city limits of Melrose, Minnesota. Melrose is the childhood home of my wife, and I have played at Meadowlark Country Club many times over the years. In this article, I am going to cover not only the layout of the course, but the unique sense of family that make up this and many other member owned, municipal or mom and pop operated 9-hole golf courses in Minnesota.

On the day in early May that I played Meadowlark Country Club most recently, my wife and I had made the trip for her to attend a family baby shower. I thought it would be nice to mix in some golf with my father-in-law one of my brothers-in-law and a couple of nephews. You know that you are either part of a large family or in a small town and maybe perhaps both when you arrive at the golf course with that many family members and you also discover upon check in at the Pro-shop that one of your nieces is working behind the counter that afternoon.

Melrose is similar to many small towns in Minnesota. The idyllic setting written about by Garrison Keillor in his series of books about fictional Lake Wobegon as well as the News from Lake Wobegon reported on his radio show A Prairie Home Companion. This is the type of place Keillor reminds us that this is where "the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." Evidence was a sign on the first tee box requesting all groups to limit themselves to 5 players or less. I will also mention that even playing with a 5-some we completed 18-holes in 4 hours. Slow play should not be expected if you police yourself and play "ready-golf".

Melrose is about the midway point between St. Cloud and Alexandria on Interstate 94. This makes a great place to stop and take a break when traveling from the Twin Cities to parts farther north and west. And a 9-hole round of two hours or less can be a refreshing break to a long car trip.

Meadowlark Country Club plays to a par of 72 for 18-holes and measures 6,278 yards for the middle tees. There are no dramatic elevation changes but there are water hazards or sand traps that come into play on every hole. If the wind is blowing across the prairie from the west or northwest the course plays completely different and you definitely need to be absolutely sure of your club selection.

To play Meadowlark Country Club, call 320-256-4989 and ask the Pro-shop attendant on duty if you need a tee time that day. Many times in the middle of the week you can walk right on and virtually have the golf course to yourself. This is a great stop to break up a roadtrip to Alexandria or parts farther north or west!

Finding a Limousine in Dallas is Easy

Sometimes you need to travel around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in conjunction with a special event. It might be something as momentous as your wedding day, as fun as prom night, or as sophisticated as a fabulous dinner on the town. Other times require the use of a luxury limousine for business purposes. No matter what your reasons, finding a limousine in Dallas is easy to do.

The first step is to locate Dallas limousine services. This is easily accomplished with an Internet search. But once you have found a list of services, how do you determine which ones offer quality transportation services upon which you can rely?

There are some simple qualifications you will want to use to determine whether or not you wish to utilize the services of any Dallas Car Service. You will need to find out what type of limousine you need. Several are available, including sedans, stretch limousines, SUVs, and luxury buses and vans. For individuals or small groups, a sedan might suffice. If you are planning to hold a bachelor party, then you will want to accommodate 15 to 20 party guests aboard a luxury bus.

Next, you will need to decide which amenities you would like in your vehicle. Dual air conditioning and even flat-screen televisions are available in newer-model limousines, but not in older ones, so you will likely want to ask if these are available in the Dallas limo you wish to hire.

It also pays to ask about the insurance on the vehicle and its manufacturer. All limousine rental companies by law are required to have appropriate insurance, but to be safe ask about it before you make a reservation. Also make sure that the vehicle you will travel in was built by a manufacturer certified Coach builder. These limousines come with all the comfort and safety features that you would expect to find in a luxury vehicle, yet are sometimes missing on non-professionally built cars.

After looking at all of these standards, the list of Dallas limos will narrow until you find the one that will best meet your needs. You can easily make a reservation by placing a telephone call to the company or by filling out an online form. Either way, you can be sure to get what you want.

Luxury limousine service is easy to find in Dallas, and so easy to use. Then, feel the mist from the falls blowing through the breeze and kissing your face. What you are imagining is known as the "Niagara of the South", this 125 foot wide waterfall appears to be a curtain of water falling to the gorge below. No matter when you see this waterfall it is amazing and it gives off a different appearance at night and during the day.

One of the most amazing aspects of Cumberland Falls is the moon bow, which only shows up on nights when there is a full moon. That event in itself is worth visiting the falls and if you can plan a trip on a full moon then you will experience something like you have never seen. You won't find anything like this anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere so it really is worth a visit!

The best times left to visit in 2007 to see the moon bow is April 30th, May 1st-4th and 30th-31st, June 1st-3rd and 28th-30th, July 1st-2nd and 28th-31st, August 24th-28th, October 24th-28th, November 22nd-26th, and December 22nd-26th.

You can plan some other activities while you are visiting Cumberland Falls State Park in Corbin, Kentucky. Some of the most popular are canoeing and white water rafting. There are professionals who will take you out on the water if you are looking for a guide. A great place to stay is at the Dupont Lodge, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the valley. While you are in the area you may also enjoy horseback riding, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W. Nothing compares to the thrill of spotting these immense creatures as they breach and spy hop in the ocean.

All the more reason then to make the most of every opportunity and ensure that very little time is wasted.

What brings Southern Right Whales to the Cape, and why for only a limited season?

Southern Right Whales spend the greatest part of their time in the icy waters of the Southern Ocean near Antarctica. This is where the strong, cold current upwellings produce the large quantities of zooplankton on which the whales feed.

However, during winter the Southern Ocean is a pretty inhospitable place even for the mighty whale. So the whales migrate north each year to calve and then raise their young in warmer, more sheltered waters before returning to the Southern Ocean in summer.

When is the Best Time to Whale Watch in and around Cape Town?

Whales start arriving in Cape Town waters as early as May and can remain here until November. However, there is no questioning the fact that August, September and early October offer the easiest pickings when to comes to whale sightings.

During September, particularly, whales seem to be at their maximum concentration, with family groups putting on spectacular displays all over the ocean.

Where? Hermanus: Whale Hot Spot #1

This small Overberg town a little more than an hour's drive from Cape Town is known as the top land-based whale watching spot in Southern Africa. It even plays host to a Whale Festival every September. A couple of factors contribute to its justifiable fame,

Firstly, the town is built along the coast of Walker Bay, which offers exactly the calm habitat that whales seek for their temporary home.

Secondly, much of the town is built along the rocky cliffs of the Bay which form a natural amphitheatre round the ocean, thereby offering grandstand seats to watchers without being forced to take to the sea.

Of course if you want to take to the sea, there are licensed boat-based operators who will be only too delighted to oblige you.

Where? False Bay: Whale Hot Spot #2

This wide shallow bay, home to Cape Town suburbs such as Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay, Fishhoek and Simonstown, is similarly well placed for casual land-based whale watching. All the suburbs along its length offer elevated slopes ideal for keeping a vigilant eye on activity at sea level.

Licensed boat-based whale watching companies operate out of the Simonstown Harbour and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

A Kissimmee Guide to a Great Vacation

Kissimmee is near Orlando and many people stay there to save money on a trip to Disney World. Fishing is a popular activity in this area. Lake Kissimmee is a 35,000 acre lake. This lake is the largest on the Kissimmee River. Lake restoration was done in 1996. The restoration created a better spawning ground and increased the quality of the fishing. Large mouth bass is a popular fish in this lake. There are tournaments held here each year and fish as large as twenty pounds have taken the top prize.

Kissimmee's Great Outdoor Days are held each year in late October. A three day fishing tournament, the Lake Toho Pro Am is held at this time of year. This is a weekend event with music, activities and other entertainment. The festival is a free event that offers many fun activities for the whole family, even members who don't enjoy fishing.

Nearby Conservation Village is a great place for kids to learn the importance of conserving our lakes and rivers. There is a stocked pond where children can enjoy fishing. During the Outdoor Days Festival, there are cardboard boat races where the whole family can participate in creating cardboard boats and racing them. During the festival, a classic car show is held. Central Florida car club members exhibit their vehicles. This is open to the public free of charge.

If you want to enjoy nature on your trip, consider visiting the Everglades. You can take an airboat ride to see wildlife up close. Tours are available for a half hour or hour. You will see native plants and wildlife, including alligators on these tours. Bring your camera to get some great pictures of the gators.

Kissimmee Guide to Attractions

If you love gators, consider visiting Gatorland during your stay in Kissimmee. There is so much to do there, and the country is steeped in rich culture and history with so many different settings to leave you in awe.

There are tropical beaches, ancient ruins, beautiful sunsets, thick jungles, colorful villages, and friendly people. If finances are holding you back then do not worry, as there are some cheap Mexico vacations that will be perfect for you and your whole family to experience this amazing place.

In your cheap Mexico vacation you may not choose to fly, although there are some super package deals with free flights for kids, or fly one way and get the flight back free. You can look around online and find plenty of special deals to take advantage of. If you want to save money you can also drive from the border after landing at San Diego.

This trip can be a great experience all on its own and you can see many wonderful sites, rock formations, and wildlife. If you are driving you must not get out of your car in the middle o f the desert, as there are dangerous scorpions and snakes.

Some Cheap Mexico Vacation Considerations

A cheap Mexico vacation could be easy as the shopping is relatively cheap if you go to the open flea market and barter with the vendors. You can find many great authentic restaurants too where they are not catering for the tourists.

If you want to take part in some activities at the beaches, you can find that some are expensive, like swimming with the dolphins, but you can snorkel, and still have fun swimming.

One of the most expensive parts of the vacation will be the accommodation, but you must think carefully before deciding where to stay. Along the coast during spring break like in Cancun, the cheaper places will be crowded with student who will be partying all night and it will not be fun for a family vacation.

There are usually cheap Mexico vacation offers at the beach resorts which can be secluded and often nicer then the fancy hotels. You must just look around online and check with your travel agent as to where there is a good place to stay that is not too expensive. One important thing to have is air conditioning as the summer can be scorching hot, so insist on that.

When dining out, try to go to places that are more authentic for your cheap Mexico vacation. The whole point of your trip is to experience Mexico so go somewhere up market but not commercial or Westernized in any way.

This will mean that you still get friendly service and great food but it will not cost too much. When site seeing, you should take the opportunity to have a cheap Mexico vacation by not being part of a tour. A tour guide will cost and you do not really need one.

The amazing ruins and temples speak for themselves. You can also attend the festivals which are held at different times through out the year for a true taste of Mexican culture and lifestyle.

The Best Cabo San Lucas Mexico Vacation Package

A Cabo San Lucas Mexico vacation package will be a great escape from the real world because you will have stepped into a unique and interesting city with plenty of clubs, bars and restaurants. February is a great chance to check out the slopes and then warm up at a NBA game. The city is big and the options are endless. The winter is actually a great time to check out Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. The zoo has over 1100 animals and 250 species from around the world. Many of the animals like the cooler days and tend to be more active. The penguins are sure to be active with temperatures in the forties in February. The Snow Leopard is from the southern Himalayans and finds himself right at home during the winter months of Salt Lake. February is also mating season for many of the animals and the zoo offers a romantic dinner and evening of fun as the animals put on their best mating dances.

After a cool day at the zoo, hit a Utah Jazz game to warm-up. A basketball game in real life is a ton of fun and the Jazz have six home games this season and you are sure to be able to find one that fits your schedule. They often hold game night promotions and contests as well. The Jazz originally began in New Orleans, but was unsuccessful financially and was moved to Utah. They were very successful in the 80s and 90s and today they aren't too shabby. Karl Malone and John Stockton tore up the court in the 90s; today their stars are Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams.

Bald Eagle Day is held every year in February. This day gives people the opportunity to see the Bald Eagle up close and learn about them. There are several areas that you can visit to see the Bald Eagles. The Fountain Green State Fish Hatchery, the Split Mountain/Green River located north of Jensen and Cedar Valley will hold viewings one weekend. Salt Creek Waterfowl Management Area at Compton's Knoll and Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area near Centerville will hold viewings the next weekend. Bald Eagle Day began in 1990 and many families go to see the Bald Eagles. It is one of Utah's most well attended wildlife viewing events. This is just a taste of what there is to do in Utah. The winter months are popular for skiing of course, but you are encouraged to look for things that are unique and out of the ordinary.

A Paris Vacation Beyond the Ordinary

Paris. What more can be said about the beautiful City of Light? We all know about its romantic atmosphere and countless museums and galleries that will sweep you away to another time and place. But around every corner and along its grand boulevards, there is a Paris that is specifically tailored towards your interests, preferences, and curiosity; and all you need to do is wander its streets to discover what you have been missing all this time.

While you so desperately want to discover the hidden treasures of this city, if it is your first visit there are a couple of sights that absolutely have to be at the top of your itinerary. Of course, standing beneath the Eiffel Tower and riding up to its landings for the breathtaking, panoramic views is bound to be your first adventure, while the Louvre and its spectacular art collection, complete with the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, will probably be a close second. Other classic favorites that will definitely occupy your first couple of days in the city include Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur.

After wandering the Louvre for hours or soaking in the unparalleled beauty of Notre-Dame, your senses are bound to be overloaded, downright exhausted, and in need of less demanding pursuits. Although this is most likely in complete contrast to what you imagined before arrival—trekking from one sight to another, checking off dozens of attractions from your must-see list seemed so reasonable back then—this weary feeling as actually for the best since now you can truly experience Paris instead of having it rush by as you hit up attraction after attraction. So what then should you do for the ultimate Paris vacation? Quite possibly less than you ever imagined…

Depending on your particular interests, there is a touristy Paris, a historical Paris, a laid-back Paris, and a fashionable Paris to ensure that you have the most memorable and enjoyable vacation possible. Shoppers and tourists alike will appreciate the elegance of one of the world's most famous promenades, the Champs-Élysées, where they can dine on exquisite cuisine, shop to their heart's content, and relax in a café and simply watch the endless parade of people down its cobblestone street. With the Arc de Triomphe at one end and historic restaurants such as Laurent and Ledoyen scattered throughout, you could easily lose an entire day enjoying the ambiance of this one-of-kind avenue.

Although history-buffs will be hard-pressed to find a city with more amazing museums (consider the Musée Jacquemart-André, the Musée d'Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou after the Louvre) at its beck and call, there is more to Paris' past than strolling down a corridor and looking at your 180th oil painting. By resisting the pull of the French Impressionists and making time for the cobbled and historic streets of Montmarte and the picturesque Latin Quarter, which rests over the Seine, you can create a more personal and memorable experience than all of the museums combined. Exploring hidden alleyways and wandering without a final destination, you can discover history, beauty, and something special to only you, all while getting a little lost in the process.

While it is easy to only think of all of the excitement you plan to pursue during the day, the City of Light certainly lives up to its name when night falls on its charming streets. The first couple of days during your trip you may be exhausted from hitting up all the popular attractions, but after you have gotten into the groove of your own getaway, be sure to spend a few evenings living it up with the Parisians. With the high quality and quantity of bars, nightclubs, music halls, wine bars, jazz dives, and cabarets, there is bound to be at least a couple of places that suit your taste.

Now that you have your days and evenings stuffed to the gills with entertainment, you need to find somewhere to rest your weary head after a long day in Paris. Beyond your typical hotel, one excellent option that offers all the luxuries of home and proximity to all your favorite attractions is a Paris apartment rental. While other accommodations are simply a place where you can rejuvenate your body before another day in the city, Paris vacation rentals surround you with amazing views and feature a cozy, lived-in atmosphere that makes you feel welcome in the city the moment you arrive. Even if Paris isn't exactly off the beaten path, you can make this trip more personalized than you ever imagined by selecting a vacation rental that perfectly meets all of your individual needs.

European Vacation & Europe Travel Guide With Tips On Cheap And Budget European Vacation

Almost every European country currently has at least one no additions budget airline. Easy Jet and Ryan Air are becoming healthy known and well-liked in Great Britain and in Ireland. Germany has four or five low cost airlines and disgraceful airfare specialists.

Meanwhile, in Sweden, SAS have just launched their own budget offshoot called Snowflake. At initial look the fares that these airlines charge can seem incredibly low; Ryan Air have given their flights missing almost for free in the past - although you still have to pay the airport levy of around twenty UK pounds. But where's the catch? Is there a catch?

Can you really vacation Europe by air without spending a fortune? Here is the deal if you want to vacation Europe on a cheap budget:

Firstly, the low fares airlines in Europe nearly always use out of city provincial airports - often about forty or fifty miles from the respective city centers. This can add up to two hours of vacation time to your journey at each end. You also have to pay for the bus or train connection to get from your airport to the city center. Make sure you add this price in to the cost of your ticket when comparing prices among cheap airfare deals and the prices thrilling by the conventional airlines. In most cases the main airlines fly you into the city center airport and therefore cut your vacation time and the cost of any spare transport.

If you are unsuccessful sufficient to miss a trip then you could literally be stuck in a very rural airport during the night with all the food outlets closed down and no way to get back to the town or the city. Secondly, you only obtain what you disburse for. The European budget airlines can offer no in-flight service for foodstuff and drinks. Or, if they do, they will charge you for it at a premium rate. Coffee, sandwiches and beer may be very pricey indeed. To be fair, many of the flights are only of an hour or two's duration so snacks and drinks may not be such a big deal.

Travel

Is it the only way to get some color into your live? Are you sick of your everyday life and trying to escape it? Or you just wanna see everything worth seeing in this life, but who's that one who said it's worth it? Maybe you simply got too much money and other means of spending it are not funny anymore? Is that the only way to get excited because all the other things are already boring? Or you've had enough from the past life and think that traveling is some kind of earned prize for all what you've done? Is it a new challenge for you?

I think, such list of simple and otherwise complicated psychological reasons to travel can be continued for kilobytes of text. But every traveler has a little bit of many of them as a compound part of his own reason, motivation to drive, fly, walk, run, swim, sail...

Each one has it's own style of traveling and there are also people, who don't stand changes in their everyday life and are never traveling. Even holidays take place at home and without leaving the hometown. But I've already seen such people, who never traveled, changing their mind. And I am glad to say that there are several people of such a kind whom I've shown some beautiful locations around the place they live in. And they became real fans of those formerly far away and impossible to reach places. Moreover, they have become this virus, this desire to see more and more. If you get infected, you would never get healed, that is for sure. Only the cruel reality can stop the progression of this great "sickness" but your mind will never change and will strive to continue your search with wide-open eyes and always willingness to see more and more.

I am not sure when I was "infected" and when I realized that there is a huge list of places that I MUST visit, no matter when and what it takes. I think that came from a variety of reasons such like frequent flights in the childhood, because all the relatives of my family were spread across the whole Soviet Union. Or maybe from constant change of the place and country of living, that supposes a total change in the living environment and tolerance to changes in life.

Another thing that you get along with traveling is surely lots of contacts in each country you visit. Of course, it depends on your ability and willingness to communicate and the duration of stay. But if you get at least one acquaintance in a country or place you travel to – just imagine how wonderful is it to have friends in various locations of this planet.

There is one sad thing about traveling I've had to find out. It is time. This is the only factor that won't let you to visit all the places in this world. There are many books like "100 most beautiful cities of the world". Imagine you would want to visit all of them. But don't forget that 100 of cities – is only a 100 and there are hundreds of cities worth visiting. And these are only cities, but a place to visit can be also a waterfall, a mountain, a lake, seashore and many others. So, you decide from now to spend for example 5 days for every city, what is actually insufficient to see all the interesting places in it. These are 100 cities each 5 days, what makes 500 days! But you cannot travel 500 days without having a rest, a break in a place you live in. So let's say 5 cities per travel what makes 25 days and 25 days at home. So you need additional 500 days to relax and to settle up your impressions to get ready for new ones. This makes good 3 years that should be spent on cities only. And for that you should have a good amount of money for airline tickets, hotels and whatever. And you should have all the time yours, but not spending it working for someone to earn money.

So, this planet is small and huge at the same time and the time goes by. And if you are "infected" with the "travel-virus", you should probably set up your priorities, make up a list of places that you surely would visit according to your living situation... and visit them...

Have a nice trip.

Kazakhstan - NOT Borat Land

I have written this article to help people who want to learn more about Kazakhstan. Whilst the film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan was funny, it did not paint anything like an accurate picture of this country. Some people want to learn more about Kazakhstan purely for their own education, others may be thinking of taking a vacation here. I moved to from Britain to Kazakhstan in April 2006, to Astana, where my wife's parents live. Since then, I've learnt a lot, and seen many of my mis-conceptions blown away.

Things that may grab your attention whilst you're over here:

Men nearly always shake hands upon meeting one another, even more so if it is the first time you've met. Women don't. If they are family, there may be a peck on the cheek, or a quick embrace. This area is still a little fuzzy to me, so I just stand back and accept whatever comes my way :>

If someone thinks you look a little different to the accepted norm for a Russian or Kazakh person, they will simply stare at you. This shouldn't be taken as an insult (or an invitation to get to know one another ;>). It is just if they want to get a good look, they won't be subtle.
People have different coping mechanisms for this behavioural trait. Some avert their eyes, others pretend not to notice. Still others will decide to turn it into a juvenile game. Whoever breaks the stare first loses, and you can keep a tally through the whole day you are out. Once you are up at the end of a day (18-3 for example), you can assume you're no longer feeling like such a wimpy foreigner. Ummm, or so my friends tell me ;>

Whilst we may all joke about British manners and overly polite social standards, standing in line for something over here is an experience you're not likely to forget very quickly. You'll also be likely to quickly re-appraise your understanding of the term 'line' or 'queue'. People will have no shame, nor should you, about pushing their way to the front of what could have been a perfectly civil and organized wait for the bus/ticket desk/shop assistant/train.
I still draw the line at elderly/young people, other than that, its every queue jumper for themselves, ultimately. (This does tend to mean most elderly/young people get served/on the bus before me, but I have this thing against trampling over brittle bones/people smaller than me.)

Upon arrival/exiting the country, be it 8.30pm, 3.45am or 3pm, you'll likely find yourselves being greeted with a small (OK, more likely a table laden with more stuff than you'd normally see for a 'light' meal) snack and some drinks, to celebrate your arrival/time in the country, if you are staying with people, rather than a hotel.
You might not feel exactly like wolfing the whole lot down, but if you take your time, with the food and the drink, you should do fine. DON'T feel obliged to down shots of Cognac/Vodka each toast. Unless that's your adjusting mechanism to the flights & time difference ;>

Bureaucracy - if you are on holiday, rather than emigrating, coming into and out of the country is the most likely area you'll possibly encounter any problems. To be fair, we've not been stopped in a couple of years, but if they decide you look like a likely person to have violated a rule, there isn't a great deal you can do about it. Coming into the country, they can decide not to let you in at all, and worse, leaving the country, they are only too well aware that you need to be available to get on a plane pretty soon.

Once you arrive in the country, you will need to register your presence, within 3 or 4 business days. There is nothing to worry about regarding this procedure; it is just so they can know who is officially registered where. Whilst this country is a lot 'freer' than it may have seemed to Westerners 15 or 20 years ago, you will have to remember that the approach taken by the government over here to maintain control of the population is not how we view 'best practice' in the West. Tough luck, their country, their rules, which, all in all, seems fair, if the roles were reversed, we'd not expect people to complain too excessively about our customs/social rules/laws.

Re. CDs/DVDs vs. portable hard drive. I've read around, and people have less difficulty taking hard drives out of the country than lots of discs, apparently. I couldn't find any info on importing. Personally, I've never had a problem in either direction. There is apparently a rule, on your way out of the country, that if Customs discover discs in your luggage, they must have been previously inspected and sealed by a dept. elsewhere in Astana. You'll need to do this four or five days before the flight. Some people stock up on cheap Software, Music and other media, though don't forget your home country may not allow you to keep these items if they search your luggage on your return.

When in the country, you will see some people walking around in army camo fatigues, most of these people are manual labourers, who use them as hard-wearing clothes to work in. If, however, you see a group of 2-6 young men wandering in 'urban' colour camos (blue/purple), these are some sort of street patrollers. No idea on their legal/military/civilian status, I just make sure I'm not littering/jay-walking when I see them around :>

Then you have the regular police force, who you will see in cars (often using their PA systems as public education systems ('Drivers! Do not park here' or 'Move out the way NOW')), on foot, or in little kiosks at key strategic civic points. The worst you can expect from them is a request to see your ID and/or passport.

There is also a traffic police force, who occasionally turn off the traffic lights, and get out their little wands to manually direct the traffic. Unless you intend to drive over here (don't forget to apply for an International Driving License in the UK, if so), you can safely ignore them.
Finally, you'll occasionally see the Army guys marching round in unison, but they seem to stay off the streets for the majority of the time.

"So how much money should I bring?"

Well, not sure on total, but if I give you an idea of how much stuff costs here, you'll be better informed to guess a holiday total I suppose... (All prices are approximate and sampled in Early 2007)

20 fags (Parliament) - $1.50

20 fags (Marlboro) - $1.00

20 fags (Russian smokable stuff) - $0.40

Bottle of coke in a shop - $0.50

Bottle of vodka in a shop - $1.60 to $8, depending on the brand (from drinkable to nice & smooth), whilst you can pay more, what's the point?

Bottle of beer in a shop - $0.45 to $1.60 (Russian to European brands)

In a restaurant/cafe, fags, coke and beer maybe double the price, or there abouts, vodka costs approximately $4 for 200ml

PC Games/Applications/MP3 collections - $4 to $10, depending on the amount of discs in the box, and how obvious the copy is! Music CDs - About the same as American prices, normally

Taxi ride (real taxi) - $3 to $6 pounds for a 15 minute ride
Taxi ride (flagging down a random car off the street) - haggle on the price, normally around 30% to 60% cheaper than a real taxi

Meal in a cafe (salad, meat dish, french fries, coke, vodka) - Between $8 and $15 per person, depending on the type of place you go to

Meal in a restaurant (same menu as above) - Between $12 and $30 pounds tops, per person. Again, you can spend more if you go high class

Obviously, if you want to get drunk, rather than merely relaxed, add more money for the extra vodka/soft drink/beer in the prices quoted above

Entrance fee to a club - $5 to $20 - basically, the more 'exclusive' an activity or brand is, the higher the price soars, prices for drinks in clubs are a little higher than elsewhere.

Kazakhstan is next door to China, so disposable electronic trinkets, that might last 5 years, or 5 days, are to be found in plenty of shops.
If you want any 'Kazakh' souvenirs - cultural stuff, definitely bring along a little bit extra cash.

Re. Money - bring at least 100 euros or a little more in dollars, the rest is up to you - there are ATMs over here (don't forget to budget for bank's commission/charges for this service), and there are at least two places that we know of that will exchange English pounds sterling for Kazakh Tenge, and all currency exchanges obviously accept dollars.

I hope some of the above will give you an idea of what you can expect from Kazakhstan. For scuba enthusiasts, the chance to dive in exotic locations can not be missed. It's no wonder that the scuba diving trip is one of the most popular themed vacations of recent years.

Building the perfect scuba diving trip begins with your level of experience. If you are a beginner it is essential that you first receive comprehensive scuba instruction so that you can become certified for diving. While you can complete this training before you leave home, you also have the opportunity to participate in instruction during your vacation. However, keep in mind that instruction and certification can be a lengthy process, and if you are looking to dive right away during your scuba diving trip, you will be required to wait.

If you've already received your certification – or are an experienced scuba diver – planning a scuba diving trip is only limited by your imagination. Plan your trip around a particular location that you've always wanted to explore and reserve accordingly. There are places worldwide that are conducive to scuba diving year round and easily accommodate a longer scuba diving trip. Most of these locations offer such amenities as scuba professionals who will guide you through particular dives, equipment rental when needed, and a variety of accommodations and leisure activities.

The style of your scuba diving trip really comes down to your personal preferences including length of time you are visiting, amount of instruction – if any – you need, traveling companions that may need special scuba accommodations, other amenities you require, and price. The Internet can quickly and efficiently give you comparisons and reviews so that you can best determine the trip that's right for you.

Planning a scuba diving trip can be the realization of a scuba enthusiast's dream. What you make of it is completely up to you and the reward will be memories you will have for a lifetime.

Culture in Canada, Top Five Cultural Communities

By Francine Gielis

The top 5 cultural communities in Canada are

1 - Edmonton, Alberta – in the more than 125 000 population category

Edmonton, Capital city of the province of Alberta is known for its thriving arts and cultural communities including a downtown arts district where several major centers are located.

2 - Comox Valley, British Columbia – in the 50 000 to 125 000 population category

Comox Valley is a thriving arts and culture community with painters, potters, theatre and dance troupes perform in parks and a myriad of venues including renovated heritage churches, warehouses, sports arenas, resorts and restaurants.

3 - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan – in the less than 50 000 population category

Moose Jaw is famous for its Murals on buildings all over the city. The gorgeous “Queen of the Adriatic” —Venice stretches across 118 islets within a lagoon in the Gulf of Venice, an arm of the Adriatic Sea.

Locally dubbed as ‘the Most Serene One’—Venice is a pleasing placid place bountifully blessed with rare beauties of nature.

Venice has long been the city of numerous romantic charms. The city was an important commercial and cultural hub in the Renaissance era. The sixteenth century was the age of flourishing art. The city became one of the most important musical centers of Europe, and the era witnessed the birth of the Venetian school of music. The composers such as Adrian Willaert, Ottaviano Petrucci, Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli flourished during the century. Shakespeare beautifully portrayed the beautiful city of gondolas in ‘the merchant of Venice’ and ‘Othello’.

Today’s Venice is the city of never fading beauty. It is one of the most desired tourist destinations of the world offering highly vibrant nightlife. Home to numerous museums and art galleries, Venice is a dream destination of a connoisseur.

Venice is widely known for museums and art galleries that are precious gems of the city. Here are some fine glimpses of famous “Venetian Museums & Galleries.”

Accademia (the Gallerie dell'Accademia): The gallery offers wonderful collection of the Venetian painting from 1300 to 1700 including Paolo Veneziano's Coronation of Mary, Carpaccio's Crucifixion and Apotheosis, Giovanni Bellini's Madonna with Child between Saints Catherine and Mary Magdalen, Giorgione's Tempest, Lorenzo Lotto's Portrait of a Young Gentleman in His Studio, Paolo Veronese's Feast in the House of Levi, and Tintoretto's Theft of St Mark's Body and Crucifixion.

Peggy Guggenheim Collection: The rich American heiress, Peggy Guggenheim’s opulent collection in the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni is one of the most notable collections of modern art in Italy. The elegant palazzo designed by Giovanni Bon and his son Bartolomeo Bon and built between 1425 and 1434 is now an exquisite art gallery that is open for public. The Ca' d'Oro houses the Galleria Franchetti, an impressive collection of bronzes, tapestries and paintings.

Ca' Rezzonico: A beautiful palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice, Ca' Rezzonico is a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice. The museum houses numerous paintings by such artists as Pietro Longhi, Francesco Guardi and Giandomenico Tiepolo, collections of antique furniture, a fine collection of Venetian glass, etc. etc.

Naval History Museum (Museo Storico Navale) & Arsenale: This museum is full of fantastic interesting maritime objects, including the banners that were flown by the Venetian fleet at Lepanto.

Museo della Fond. Scientifica Querini Stampalia: The beautiful residence of the Querini-Stampalia family became a museum after the death of Giovanni in 1868. The museum houses furniture, textiles and collector's items from the 16th century including a collection of paintings from the works of Bellini, Palma, Ricci, etc. etc.

Palazzo Cini: The former residence of Vittorio Cini, Palazzo Cini now houses his art collection, different Tuscan paintings, including works by Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Filippo Lippi and Giunta Pisano. The museum also features numerous admirable objects, ornaments, chandeliers, furniture, porcelain, carpets, textiles, and the works from the Florentine workshop of Baldassare degli Embriachi, who made ivory objects.

Palazzo Labia - Salone del Tiepolo: The palace built from Istria stone in the 17th century features a fresco on the walls painted by Tiepolo.

Museo Dipinti Sacri Bizantini - Istituto Ellenico: This fine museum is located next to the San Giorgio dei Greci church. The museum houses a rich collection of Byzantine icons from Greece and Venice that date from the 14th to the 18th centuries. The museum also features a large variety of religious objects and artifacts from the life of Jesus and Saints, and a collection of documents and archives on the history of the Greek colonies in Venice.

Additionally, the city of Venice has numerous beautiful churches and little less famed museums and art galleries.

Orson Johnson writes for Holiday Velvet, a website providing listings for bed and breakfasts, villas, hotels and Apartments in Venice

Escorted Tour Travel Sites

By John Wellington

Even if you're an “armchair” traveler, travel sites are fun to explore. Competition is fierce, and travel site owners work hard to provide lots of in-depth information and links to keep you browsing their site! If planning a trip, you're smart to look for travel sites geared to your itinerary and travel style.

You'll find travel sites usually have a slant. For example, some cater to the independent traveler who wants an unstructured, footloose vacation. If you have two weeks, and want to visit Paris, Koln, Florence and Rome, but want to do your own research on sights to see and how long your stay at each destination will be, this type of travel site may be the best place to start. If you want to take a cruise, search out travel sites with a specialty in cruises. Their content will likely focus on cruise-related issues and be of value to you.

Escorted tour travel sites offer structured tours with a guide to fill you in on interesting or historic sections of your destination. These guides are well informed of their particular venue, and can give you an inside look you won't find elsewhere. Travel sites geared to escorted tours usually offer “night life” tours where you'll discover the local hot spots for entertainment which you might otherwise miss.

Luxury oriented travel sites focus on first-class everything. If you want to be in total comfort every step of the way and not have to deal with any arrangements, check out the luxury type travel sites.

Another popular type site is the Cooking class trip. If you'd like to learn the techniques of a foreign cuisine while vacationing, there's a travel website to accommodate you. These cooking travel sites arrange accommodations, usually luxurious, along with daily cooking classes, visits to the local marketplace, wine tastings and communal dining. Now that's a vacation and a half for the avid cook! The aspiring chef can book a trip and earn a Cordon Bleu certificate at the same time.

If you're an “armchair” traveler, the net is wide open. You can make a virtual visit to anywhere you'd like to go! Some travel sites have panoramic photography, allowing you to see what the river Seine looks like from the second tier of the Eiffel Tower at nightfall. You can find panoramic videos of Buenos Aires, the Australian Outback or Vatican City.

Almost all travel sites arrange car rentals, hotel accommodations, rail passes and the like. You'll pay for the service, but you'll relieve yourself of a lot of footwork. Travel sites know their business

And offer a lot of convenience in ironing out the best deals.

So if you're itching to take a trip, check out travel sites likely to suit your style. Subscribe to newsletters to keep up to

Date on best deals, tips and articles on your destination. And if your schedule or budget doesn't allow a trip right now, you

Can still take a vicarious vacation today!

TheTravellersMagazine.Com provides readers with the latest reviews, articles, commentaries and write-ups on all travel sites, cooking travel sites, vicarious vacation related subjects.

Travel Tips from the State Patrol

With the first major winter storm of the season poised to strike the Cornhusker state, the Nebraska State Patrol is urging motorists to exercise caution on area roadways. Motorists are urged to know the weather and travel conditions. Travelers can utilize the state’s automated road and weather condition information system by dialing 511 from any landline or cellular phone. The number is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. The system can also be accessed via the internet, through the Nebraska State Patrol web site at www.nsp.state.ne.us, click on “511 Traveler Information” in the Quick Links box. Travelers outside of Nebraska wanting to check weather and road conditions in our state can dial 1-800-960-9069.
Safe winter travel begins with a well serviced vehicle. The Nebraska State Patrol reminds motorists to make sure their vehicle is in good working order and is filled with fuel before starting out on any trip in inclement weather.

Icy roads make it difficult to steer and stop. The Nebraska State Patrol reminds motorists to drive at a reduced speed, giving yourself plenty of time and distance to react to those driving around you. Remember slick spots can form in places you least expect. Exercise caution on bridges and overpasses. Do not drive in slick, or wet snowy weather with your cruise control on. Keep your headlights on and make sure they are cleaned off so you can see and be seen.

Plan your trips carefully. Use well traveled routes and give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. Be sure to let others know where you are going, when you will arrive and what route you are taking. If you do become stranded while traveling, stay with your car. Wind-chill and freezing temperatures can be life threatening. If your vehicle does become stuck, keep a window cracked to prevent the build up of carbon monoxide.

The Nebraska State Patrol urges motorists to keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle. The following are basic items to keep in your car in case you become stranded in wintry weather.

• An emergency first aid kit
• Ice scraper- shovel-small bag of sand
• Three pound coffee can
• Matches and candles
• Blankets or sleeping bag
• High energy or dehydrated foods
• Jumper cables
• Flashlights
• Battery operated radio
• Extra batteries (cold weather reduces battery strength)
• Red flag or bandana (fasten to car to signal passerby you are in trouble)
• Run your vehicle sparingly and keep a window in your vehicle cracked to prevent the build up of carbon monoxide.

Always buckle-up, drive defensively and do not go faster than conditions allow. If you are in need of emergency roadside assistance, you can dial the Nebraska State Patrol Highway Helpline at *55 on your cellular phone or 1-800-525-5555 from any landline.

Torquay trip for Saints

Hampshire Sport

SAINTS will travel to League Two strugglers Torquay in the third round of the FA Cup on January 6.

The Devonians, who have not met Saints in a competitive match since the 1950s, caused an upset when they won their second round replay 2-1 at League One strugglers Leyton Orient last night.

Two-goal Jordan Robertson was Torquay's hero on a night when Saints loane Kyle Critchell came on as a second half sub when the tie was still goalless.

The second-bottom Gulls are enduring a nightmare time in the league at present - they have not won for 12 games and banked only four points out of a possible 36 during that time.

Daytona Beach Vacation Rentals Have What It Takes

By Caitlin Moore

Central Florida seems to be quite the activity hotspot. From Disney to Cape Canaveral and all the places in between there’s a lot to see and do. When looking for a good place to serve as a representative of it all, the beaches, the fun and the sunshine-y beauty, think about Daytona Beach. Take it up one more notch by choosing to stay in a vacation rental while you’re here, and your upcoming holiday could very well be the best ever.

This combination of choices has been tried and proven to be successful by many a savvy vacationer. Nothing is better than planning a trip only to have it go off without a hitch, as receiving accolades from your loved ones is the best feeling in the world. On this note, take a little time right now to make a few simple choices and you’ll be well on your way to being hip, hip hoorayed.

First of all, be secure with your pick; Daytona Beach has all the sand and surf activities a person could ever ask for, shopping, dining, nightlife, a strong commitment to motorsports, and beautiful weather. There’s also golf, parks, shows and museums, and probably a few other things that you’ll discover for yourself once you’re within the realm of this vacationer’s dream come true. The days won’t have enough hours to contain all that you and yours will have on your itineraries, so you’ll just have to do your best to squeeze it all in.

Second is the issue of accommodations. Not always given the weight they are due, lodgings can bring a vacation up or down before you realize what’s happening. Not that you’ll be spending hours and hours within the walls of your temporary abode, but it’s nice to smile as you turn your key and ready yourself to relax even further as opposed to dreading the end of the day when you’ll have to return to your less than stellar situation.

Daytona Beach Vacation Rentals are condos, pool homes and beach houses. They are one bedroom, three bedrooms and five bedrooms, and can be decorated with modern simplicity or playful tropical accents. Some have garden tubs, some have Jacuzzis out back, many have grills, washers and dryers, hammocks, and walk-in closets that will put your own to shame. The bottom line is, the properties up for grabs are endlessly different and sure-to-be-pleasing in all their infinite ways.

Furthermore, it’s easy to find a place that’s convenient to where you want to visit. Five minutes from the beach, ten minutes from the pier, an hour’s drive from the diversions in Orlando…whatever’s on your list of things to see and do will be within reach if you take some time to plunk yourself down in a vacation rental that’s not only comfortable, but wonderfully situated. This benefit will even allow you to address a sometimes hushed-up fact of life; the members of your family love each other, yes, but don’t always want to do the same things on vacation. Accept this and just go with it. Scatter in different directions, respectively visiting the speedway, the golf course, the shopping district or the museum, and then meet back up for a scrumptious meal and share a few stories. It’s okay, this is normal and far more enjoyable than the alternative.

Essentially, your vacation rental will be pleasing thanks to each sun-drenched room, each comfortable bed, each surprisingly useful tool in the kitchen, and the overall feeling of contentment that goes along with being happy with the place you lay your head each night. The world is viewed in a rosier light when all is well in the home, and the same goes for your home away from home.

If you want your next vacation to bloom, then give it a little care today. Go online to peruse the vast number of listings available, keeping your eyes open for good deals of course, and pick the one that you can imagine you and your family settling down in for a peaceful, long-overdue vacation. It’s out there waiting, as is the praise that’s waiting to be showered upon you.

Visit HomeAway.com to craft the perfect vacation for you and your family.

Travel Tips for the Holiday Season

Ah, holiday travel. The packed airplanes, the crowded airports, the high ticket prices: there’s nothing quite like traveling in December to make you long for January. From waiting in a long security line, to having your luggage filled with the Christmas presents for your new in-laws delivered to Ohio as you land in Oklahoma, traveling over the holidays can be a real pain. Tis’ the season to go crazy.

However, holiday travel doesn’t have to be a nightmare. With a few tips and a little effort, things may go smoother than you thought possible. So, put your tray tables up and heed the following advice on traveling during December.

Be Nice to Airport Employees
As soon as you enter an airport, democratic values fly out the window; here, the airport employees have absolute power. It may be easy to get angry with them — you’re already running late and you don’t have time to wait — but keep in mind that they are doing the best they can: they want you up in the air and out of their hair as much as you do. Being nice and courteous to an airport employee or being rude and unfair could mean the difference between an upgrade or a cavity search.

Fly During Odd Hours
The holidays are the busiest time of the year for airports: everyone has somewhere to go. While there is no way around this fact, there is a way around the majority of the crowds: fly during non-peak hours. Flying very early or very late may seen a bit inconvenient, as you could arrive at your destination in the middle of the night, but it will save you so much hustle and bustle that it might just be worth it. The tickets will probably be cheaper too.

Bring a Book or Ten
One of the things that is most stressed at the airport during the holidays is patience: there will definitely be waiting involved. While some people pass this time by tapping their fingers on escalator railings, glancing at their watches, and growing increasingly agitated, one of the best ways to practice patience is with a new book. You’ll still have to wait, but with something to engage you, you just might not mind as much.

Give Security a Break
Security lines at the airport can be frustrating. From taking off your shoes to bagging your liquids, it may seem as though the security lines are walking a fine line between safety and privacy. However, keep in mind that airport security was put in place for one reason alone: to save people’s lives. Saving lives trumps inconvenience, as it well should. So, give the security people a break and help them out by not wearing objects that will trigger the alarm, removing your coats and jackets, turning on your laptops, and wearing shoes that can be easily removed and placed back on.

Bribe Your Children
The only thing worse than traveling over the holidays is traveling with children over the holidays. When it comes to kids, patience is not a virtue. Because of this, children become easily agitated, upset over having to wait in lines or being stuck in an airport with nothing to do. In order to keep your kids happy - and keep them from driving you crazy - keep them entertained. For younger kids, something as simple as a coloring book may suffice, while the older kids may need a handheld video game or an iPod to keep them appeased. When all else fails, remind your kids that Santa is particularly observant at the airport: it‘s in their best interest to behave.

Ship Your Presents
Many people have an aversion to shipping their holiday presents, afraid that the post office will send the wrong package to the wrong house. But, placing presents in luggage and checking your bags can also cause these gifts to travel to the wrong destination. If the present is small enough that you can carry it on, then do so. But, for presents that are too big to be carried, ship them beforehand. Not only will you not have to make room in your suitcase for a present - asking the contents of your bag to “suck in“ as you attempt to zip it shut - but you also won’t have to deal with the gifts at the airport: you’ll have enough to deal with as it is.

Holiday travel is enough to make anyone think that the sky’s the limit when it comes to their temper. But, with a little planning and a little patience holiday travel doesn‘t have to be that stressful. Just relax, think ahead and remember that Santa knows when your sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, and he knows when you’re flipping off the man behind the registration desk at Delta.

Written by Jordan

Experts: Travel will stay strong

Thanksgiving increase offers glimpse at Dec.

With travel for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend strong and fuel prices down, experts see no reason why the next big travel period -- Christmas through New Year's -- should not be busier than last year.

Travel-industry organizations such as AAA and Air Transport Association have not yet released their travel forecasts for the Christmas-New Year's holiday week. But experts are optimistic.

"In all probability, the Christmas travel survey will show higher results" than last year, AAA Auto Club South spokesman Gregg Laskoski said.

He pointed to AAA's Thanksgiving holiday weekend forecast, which found that 38.3 million Americans were expected to travel at least 50 miles from home -- up 2.7 percent from last year's Thanksgiving period.

"That's a significant increase," considering the large number of travelers involved, Laskoski said.

While the Thanksgiving travel period spans about five days, the Christmas-New Year's travel period spans eight to 10 days, Laskoski said.

Last year, the AAA forecast found that about 63 million Americans were expected to travel at least 50 miles from home for the Christmas-New Year's holiday period.

Laskoski said more people could travel this year for the year-end holidays, given the drop in fuel prices from last year.

Antoine Smith, an information specialist for the U.S. Energy Department's Energy Information Administration, said fuel prices are expected to remain down in the fourth quarter, from October through December.

Smith said the average retail price nationwide for regular unleaded gasoline has been about $2.25 a gallon in the fourth quarter, down from an average of $2.83 a gallon in the third quarter, from July through September -- a peak driving period in the United States.

Also, Smith said it has been a relatively disruption-free year in the fuel industry, without any major world events, hurricanes or other natural disasters impacting supplies, which are currently plentiful.

After Thanksgiving, the amount of travel dips, outside of the specific holiday periods, such as the Christmas-New Year's week. Demand for gas drops -- and gas prices dip as a result, Smith said.

"As demand for gas goes down, the price of crude oil goes down," he added.

However, the Energy Information Administration is forecasting a gradually increase in gas and oil prices in January, leading up to the heavy spring driving season.

"It happens every year," Smith said. "The cycle will repeat itself."

Laskoski sees another factor: the demand for home heating oil in the Northeast. He said gas and oil prices should dip temporarily after Thanksgiving, before starting to rise in mid-December with the increasing winter demand for home heating oil.

Travel Tips for the Holiday

JONESBORO-- The Thanksgiving holiday is tomorrow, but motorists are flooding the roads today.

And more people on the road only means longer waits on the way to Grandma's house.

We caught up with a few holiday travelers and the Arkansas State Police to check out travel conditions.

We even have a few tips that could help make sure you have a happy holiday trip.

The Baggett family from Batesville made a quick trip to Jonesboro before their Thanksgiving holiday.

"Well, I expect it to be really crowded on the highway going home. We experienced a lot of that on the way over here. And a lot of accidents too," holiday traveler Betty Baggett says.

This is a concern shared by Arkansas State Police.

They say this is a time of the year for unusually large volumes of traffic.

"His is one of the busiest holidays especially with Thanksgiving... Everybody coming in for their families. Of course, then the big shopping day after Thanksgiving, Friday. The volume is extremely heavy then. There's just a lot of people out on the roads," Sgt. Benny Cox of the Arkansas State Police says.

Sgt Cox says the first step before traveling is to check your car over making sure all fluids are at proper levels and tires are properly inflated to keep you from being stranded on the road, and...

"Leave in plenty of time. Give yourself plenty of time because of the traffic. Obey all the laws... The speed limits especially. We're really going to be out in force this holiday season," Sgt Cox says.

it's also important to pay attention to law enforcement officials on the road.

"It is a law that you change lanes on a four lane highway for a police officer stopped on the shoulder," Sgt Cox says.

As police patrol the roads, these few tips can help you and your family have a safe and hassle free holiday.

"We try to really get out in force. More traffic, more opportunities for people to have an accident, and we're just trying to keep everybody safe and make sure you get to where you're going," Sgt. Cox says.

Thanksgiving Travel Tips

By: Melanie Olivas

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year and folks traveling by plane today should expect tighter security and longer lines. Macpherson to trip to US if drama fails

The program debuted on the Ten Network on October 9, attracting 1.29 million viewers nationally.

But audience numbers have slipped each week, last Wednesday dropping to 960,000 viewers nationally.

With the ratings figures slipping under one million viewers, industry insiders have suggested the show may not be back in 2007.

"The numbers at the end of the day are what makes the decisions," Macpherson said.

"I am going to go overseas if Tripping Over The board changed the travel policy in July.

Parents protested the board's decision saying that they would help the girls raise the additional $230, and had already raised $4,500 at a golf tournament in September.

The trip to New York means more than a drill team competition, the parents said. The trip is also about widening the students' experiences beyond what they normally see in Payson.

They would see people from all over the world, interact with professional dancers, and receive some education at the Statue of Liberty and other historic places, parent Charn Burton said.

"It's not just a dance competition," Burton said. "To me, it's an educational experience that they perhaps will never again get to experience."

Prior to the regular meeting, board of education members said that if they made an exception for the Payson drill team, they would have to make other exceptions.

"If it's good for the child to go to New York (parents should) take them, for heaven's sake," board member Bonnie Palmer said. "That would be wonderful."

There's no way parents could take their children to New York City for $600, parent Chris Haskell argued to the board.

The travel policy was changed over the summer. Previously, the limit for travel was $400 per student, but parents and booster clubs frequently raised additional money, board member Debbie Swenson said.

The policy was changed because travel costs have increased. But it's expensive for the district to pay for trips of students who qualify for fee waivers. And out-of-state trips increase the liability for the district.

"Truthfully, as a board we get a lot of complaints by the chamber of commerce that they get hit up a lot" for donations, Swenson said.

Board president Kaye Westwood opposed the majority who voted against the trip. "My feeling is that this (policy) is in the first year and perhaps we did not get the education of this policy and its ramifications down to everyone that was impacted by it," she said.

By Laura Hancock

Keep On Traveling!

If you can frequently travel, keep on traveling! If you have the time, money, and reasons to go somewhere via the airplane, book a ticket and start traveling! You’ll be glad you brought out the traveler in you!
Travelers are very familiar with the frequent flyer credit card. It is a credit card that is issued by a card company, in collaboration with a major airline, or issued by the airline itself, to allow a person to avail of the airline’s services, yet pay for it at a later date. Businessmen are the usual people who avail of this kind of card since they always travel to take care of work related matters in various places and with various clients. So that the frequent flyer credit card would be fully used, the issuing company gives incentives like free travels or free stays at a certain hotel if a cardholder accumulates a certain number of miles.

How can a frequent flyer cardholder get the mileage points quickly?

If a cardholder checks–in a hotel that is part of the card’s mileage point accumulation scheme, he should put the hotel charges on the credit card.
